Leica Geosystems Launches SmartStation Contest

Leica Geosystems today announced a major sales promotion and contest to build awareness for the exciting new productivity features of the System 1200 SmartStation technology in North America.

The contest runs from October 1, 2005, through February 28, 2006.  The grand prize – a Leica System 1200 SmartStation – will be awarded March 30, 2006.  Any qualified person who attends a sales demonstration of the SmartStation by an authorized Leica Geosystems distributor or salesperson will be eligible to enter for the drawing.

“The SmartStation represents a revolutionary breakthrough in surveying technology as the first and only total station with fully integrated GPS,” said Valerie Richardson, vice president of strategic marketing and business development, Surveying and Engineering Division Americas, Leica Geosystems Inc.  “It provides unprecedented value to the surveying community, in terms of productivity improvement for all sorts of surveying tasks by integrating GPS and total station functionality into a single compact package with common software, database, storage medium and user interface.  The SmartStation can reduce the time required for setup and orientation by up to 80 percent.”

The SmartStation sales demonstrations will take place all across the United States and Canada during the contest period.  No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter the contest.  All entry forms will be eligible for the grand prize drawing.

“The purpose of this contest is to give Leica Geosystems’ dealers and sales representatives an opportunity to showcase the advanced features and functions of the SmartStation technology,” said Richardson.  “We believe our customers will be impressed by the unique value proposition of these new products in boosting their productivity in the field.”
