Optech Announces ZinView Quick Processing Software for ALTM

Toronto, Ontario, June 27, 2005 – Optech Incorporated, the global leader in the development and manufacture of laser-based survey instruments, is pleased to introduce ZinView, the latest software development for Optech’s ALTM.

Developed as a complementary tool for Optech’s existing software packages, ZinView allows users to quickly process their data and check for gaps and other errors, without having to take the data into REALM for full processing.

ZinView provides fast and efficient processing at a ratio of better than 1:1. It features easy setup, simple point and click operation, and a viewer with full rotation and zoom capabilities. Data accuracy is better than 1 cm.

“ZinView is a tool that’s going to benefit our customers greatly,” said Jake Jenkins, Director, Terrestrial Survey Division for Optech. “The ability to quickly process and check data coverage is going to make their jobs easier, and allow them to maximize their investment. “Our software team outdid themselves with the development of ZinView,” he added.

Optech’s ALTM sets the global standard for airborne laser terrain mapping with data acquisition rates of up to 100,000 pulses per second and innovative options such as intensity output, full waveform digitization, simultaneous first/last pulse measurement, roll compensation, and digital camera integration. With more systems in operation worldwide than any other airborne laser mapping instrument, ALTM is the solution of choice where fast, detailed and accurate topographic elevation data are needed.
