Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping Participates in Geospatial Pavilion at 46th Paris Air Show

Atlanta, GA – Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping, LLC today announced its participation in the 46th Paris Air Show, Monday 13th June to Sunday 19th June 2005 at Le Bourget Airport in Paris, France. A bi-annual event, the Paris Air Show is the leading international event for the aviation, aeronautics, and space industries. It is the world’s longest running aerospace event, drawing nearly 1,800 exhibitors, close to a quarter of a million visitors, presenting over 200 of the world’s most innovative aircraft.

For the first time at the Paris Air Show, geospatial information technology will be featured in a major geospatial showcase as part of the official US Pavilion. This celebrates the increasing use of geospatial imaging tools in the defence community. The Geospatial Pavilion at this year’s Paris Air Show is located in Hall 3. Leica Geosystems will showcase its photogrammetric and remote sensing solutions in booth #E-12.

Making its debut at the Paris Air Show is the newly-released IMAGINE Virtual DeliveryTM. This latest addition to IMAGINE VirtualGIS is a natural extension to the easy-to-learn, easy-to-use and comprehensive application for processing accurate GIS imagery. IMAGINE Virtual Delivery brings the powerful 3D visualization and analysis capabilities to users worldwide without the need to purchase expensive desktop software. Browser-based clients can view published 3D scenes in a fully customizable browser interface, without acquiring additional software.

“We are excited to participate in the Geospatial Pavilion, spotlighting the growth of geospatial information in the defence community,” commented Gianni Burzi, EMEA Director of Sales for Commercial Solutions for Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping. “The Paris Air Show is the definitive aviation event and we are glad to have to opportunity to reach this burgeoning market.”
