INTERGEO® 2004 in Stuttgart, Germany – For people on the move
Jubilee event mobilises international geo-industry

Stuttgart, Germany, 15 October 2004. "Most probably record breaking" – Dr. Hartmut Rosengarten, the Chairman of the INTERGEO Exhibitor Committee, sums it up.
About 16,500 expert visitors of the trade fair and 1,700 conference delegates together with more than 470 exhibitors celebrated "10 years of INTERGEO par excellence.
The largest conference and trade fair world-wide for geodesy, geoinformation and land management confirmed its position as the meeting point Number One of the industry undisputedly and in great style.

"Stuttgart hosting the event has given an enormous boost to the number of highly qualified prospects compared with the previous number of years", says Dr. Rosengarten.
On more than 9,800 square meters of exhibition space visitors of the trade fair could again during all three days gain a comprehensive overview over standards, trends and innovations from geodesy, geoinformation and land management. The combination of conference, forums and trade fair is unique world-wide. Competency and relevance create an unbeatable appeal that has an impact well beyond Germany.

International acceptance
More than 20 percent of foreign exhibitors and an increase of foreign visitors to 13 percent confirm the continuing international importance of the event.  "This year the INTERGEO was able to extend its position as the central marketplace for the entire industry considerably", confirmed Dipl.-Ing. Hagen Graeff, President of the German Association of Surveying – Association for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management (Deutscher Verein für Vermessungswesen e.V. – Gesellschaft für Geodäsie, Geoinformation und Landmanagement – DVW e.V.).

Superb response
"This year we have integrated both elements of the event more effectively with the aim of encouraging the exchange of ideas and the mutual stimulation between trade fair and conference even more. The superb response confirms we were right." Trade fair and conference were as well attended as never before in the history of the INTERGEO.
More than 95 percent of the expert visitors assessed the quality of the INTERGEO with good to very good. Especially the comprehensive industry overview got outstandingly positive remarks during the survey. According to survey results 95 percent of the expert visitors will recommend a visit to INTERGEO so that for next year again more than 30 percent of first-time visitors can be expected.
"Approach markets, don’t wait for markets to come to you! The concept of moving the venue around as a guarantee for success has been confirmed by more than 95 percent of the expert visitors during the large-scale survey", says Olaf Freier, INTERGEO Project Manager and Managing Director of HINTE GmbH.

Surpassed expectations
The companies and organisations that were involved in this year’s INTERGEO are also talking about an exceptional result of the trade fair. More than 90 percent of the exhibitors claimed to have reached their targets for the trade fair. The position of the participation in the trade fair as part of their overall marketing activities is also undisputed.

The fact that the quality of the discussions at the trade stands has been highly praised is consistent with the survey result that more than 70 percent of expert visitors are decision-makers within their companies when it comes to the purchase and procurement of innovations. 90 percent of the companies are planning to exhibit again at the INTERGEO 2005 from 4 to 6 October in Düsseldorf next year.

Signing of contracts
The planning of the INTERGEO promoter DVW e.V. and the trade fair organiser HINTE GmbH looks into the future a lot further. During the jubilee event they confirmed their long-term and very successful co-operation by extending their contracts until the year 2011.

The INTERGEO 2005 will take place from 4 to 6 October 2005 in the exhibition halls of Messe Düsseldorf.
