Photo Science Inc. Adds Intergraph's Z/I Imaging Digital Mapping Camera for Photogrammetric Needs

Digital acquisition system delivers precision imagery for engineering-scale accuracy

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 21, 2004 – Intergraph <NASDAQ: INGR> Mapping and Geospatial Solutions today announced Photo Science Inc. has selected the company’s Z/I Imaging Digital Mapping Camera (DMC(R)), the industry’s only large-format digital aerial camera system. Photo Science (Lexington,
Kentucky) is a full-service photogrammetric, computer mapping and GIS services company. The DMC extends Photo Science’s capabilities to capture precise, high-quality imagery, which is the basis of its photogrammetric products, such as medium-scale orthophotos and large-scale maps. Photo Science delivers these products to local, state and federal governments, and land development and engineering firms. Using the DMC with its framing technology and multi-use sensor, Photo Science can acquire geometrically stable imagery and simultaneously collect multi-spectral data to enable the generation of black and white, natural color and false-color infrared imagery from a single airborne data set. This means Photo Science can fulfill the multi-mission requirements of its customers with minimum number of photoflights while also ensuring the capture of highly accurate imagery as input for downstream photogrammetric processes.

"Precise aerial imagery is the single most important element in the preparation of quality mapping," said Mike Ritchie, President, Photo Science. "The Z/I Imaging DMC is an ideal addition to our existing fleet of camera and photogrammetric technology. It augments the reliability, accuracy and superior quality that we are committed to bringing to our customers with increased efficiencies and new production processes."

Intergraph will also provide implementation services to help Photo Science realize a completely digital production workflow.

The DMC captures imagery with proven ground resolutions as small as 11/2 inches per pixel. Imagery acquired with the DMC maintains its initial high geometric and radiometric quality throughout each stage of the project life cycle – mission planning, sensor management, photogrammetric production and client/server image management, storage and distribution.
