Canadian Geomatics Leaders to Meet June 22

The 3rd Annual GIAC Geomatics Leaders Forum is being held June 22 – 23 in Ottawa, Ontario at the Westin Hotel. The forum will provide an opportunity for industry representatives to shape the future of the Geomatics in Canada.

The Forum will provide an atmosphere for business representatives from across the geomatics sector to get to know each other and explore the potential for complementary business development efforts.

The Leaders Forum is also serving as the culmination of a series of national workshops on geomatics policy. The main objective of these workshops is to foster a closer working relationship between the Geomatics industry and the Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments in Canada while gaining insights into policies that will impact the geomatics sector as a whole. Attendees to the national workshop will have the opportunity to participate in an open discussion between industry and government, designed to maximize the exchange of information, including planned government programs and spending, major government policies affecting the industry, and the capabilities of the geomatics industry. Participants we will come away with a broader understanding of geomatics policies that impact the Canadian Geomatics sector.

The 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Geomatics Industry Association of Canada will also be held during the Leaders Forum on Tuesday June 22, 2004 and will be open only to GIAC members.

A copy of the schedule will be available shortly.
